Arron Nelson is one of the most masterful and respected musicians in the West Kootenays. This world-class bass player, multi-instrumentalist and singer songwriter has been performing in the Kootenays since the early 80's, in many renowned musical collaborations. He brings his vast musical acumen to his current group, The Arron Nelson Project.
Surrounding himself with some of the Kootenay's most talented musicians, what began as The Arron Nelson Band in 2004 has synthesized into a honed hybrid of audio pulses and visual projections linking pertinent images with fractal movements.
Built on a bedrock of solid, sexy, spellbinding bass lines, soaring harmonies, tasty, sensitive guitar licks and smokin' percussion - this multi-textured soundscape has a strong underpinning of Afro-Cuban, Brazilian and West African grooves.
With the creation of a musical genre they call 'message music', the lyrical content of their songs is both revolutionary and relevant to the issues facing our world and each other as individuals today. With songs like Shed Your Skin, Possible, Skies Blue, Locked Down Borders and We Are All Miles Away this dynamic group delivers.
